Microsoft Ignite Tour Special with Laurent Bugnion and Jeremy Likness – 15th January 2020

15th January 2020 from 6pm at Rebel Recruiters

What's it about?

Join two of Microsoft’s excellent Senior Cloud Developer Advocates to discuss some of the most exciting topics in the Microsoft stack today.

Laurent Bugnion - A Gentle Introduction to Deep Learning:

Artificial intelligence relies on a few mathematical principles that can seem scary when you look at them from a distance.

But if you take a step by step approach, you will find that the math involved is not too complex and that any software developer can understand the basics.

In this session, Laurent Bugnion, a Cloud Developer Advocate working with Microsoft will share his recent journey discovering the basics of Deep Learning.

We will not make data scientists out of you, but we will enable you to understand what people talk about when they mention artificial intelligence.

We will see how Azure can help you with tools, services and machines.

Last but not least, we will also have a discussion about the ethics of AI and what we should be careful about.

Jeremy Likness - WASM and WASI: The Power of One:

WebAssembly is a new, browser-based technology that provides a virtual stack-based machine for running code consistently across platforms and operating systems.

With the introduction of WASI, or WebAssembly Systems Interface, it is now capable of running outside of the browser in other environments and is hosted in runtimes like the .NET Framework and on edge devices.

Learn about the history of WebAssembly, see examples of WASI in action, and learn about the power of one to build byte code that can truly run everywhere.

What do we need to bring?

Just yourself and a willingness to learn!
